Tsuge laboratory is actively promoting the creation of eco-friendly polymers. For contributing to establish a sustainable human society, we produce the biopolymers with high performance and high function by recombinant bacteria from renewable carbon sources. Furthermore, we elucidate the biodegradation mechanism of biopolymers by enzymes and three-dimensional structure of biopolymers and these depolymerases. The aim of this laboratory is to establish a new scientific filed "Development of production system of eco-friendly materials".

ĦResearch TopicsĦ
1. Metabolic and evolutionary engineering for biosynthesis of biopolyester
2. Optimization of production systems for biopoyesters
3. Structural and functional analyses of polyester-degrading enzymes
4. Crystal and surface structures of biodegradable polymers
